Cheesy Charlie

When i look back in my career I've had some really cheesy lines spouted to me in various training sessions such as:

"Smile while you Dial"

"There is no I in Team"

and my favourite

"Quitter's never win and winners never quit"

I was wondering,. what are other peoples experiences in this, has anyone ever said something in training  to you where you just wanted to say "OH SHUT UP!!"

"And old Dave, he'd go up to his room, y'understand, put on his green velvet slippers - I'll never forget - and pick up his phone and call the buyers, and without leaving his room, at the age of eighty-four, he made his living. And when I saw that, I realized that selling was the greatest career a man could want." Arthur Miller (1915 - 2005), Death of a Salesman, 1949.

Re: Cheesy Charlie

why would people buy, date, befriend people they don't like?  Is that the "keep your friends close and your enemies closer?" haha

SC:

I can see if it's  a sugar daddy you would date someone who you didn't like, more friends =more Amway opps, and if you are addicted to crack cocaine or cocoa puffs (the latter for me) you wouldn't care who you were buying from.

OMG Cam!  You scare me!

How about "it is what it is".  I used to have a friend who said that all the time.  Sometimes more than once in a sentence.  Hence, the "used to" .  But as sales managers, sometimes you have to deliver a message to your team that isn't pleasant.    It is what it is and we'll find a way to make it work for us all with that cheesy charlie smile!

You and me both Silly.

What about Coffee is for Closers! Sounds like Trix are for Kids. I enjoy coffee and trix and I'm neither a closer nor a kid(physically, mentally debatable)
