From the greatest salesman in History to the greatest organisation in history

Cagefighter opened a thread the greatest sales person in history and it made me think, What is the greatest  organisation in history.

We're talking companies that have lauched amazing technology or organisations that have benefitted mankind. Companies that have dominated sales in a particular field or companies that everyone wants to work for.

There are no right or wrong answers but i'd like to get your insights.

My thought is for the World Health Organisation for their remarkable work in fighting disease in 3rd world countries.

What do you think?

And when I saw that, I realized that selling was the greatest career a man could want." Arthur Miller (1915 - 2005), Death of a Salesman, 1949.

For me it would have to be apple, they changed the way we looked at the world and revolutionized nearly every facet of our lives.  From the first personal computer, to the ipod, ipad and iphone apple has been breaking down walls ever since they were founded.

Although as a 'moral footprint' standpoint, they do use unethical labor sources (but what mega companies don't now-a-days?)

Apple certainly have made their mark but without steve Jobs driving force will they ever be the same again?

Re: From the greatest salesman in History to the greatest organisation in history

Thomas Edison invented the incandescent light bulb and was a prime mover in the development of the delivery of electricity that we have here in the US. Electric lightsis still one of the largest contributors to bring humans out of the dark. The company is now called GE or General Electric, ine of the largest companies in the world. At least one of the largest that actually makes stuff...
