New Program- Member Question of the Month

Happy New Year, Jigsaw community! As you saw in our blog last week, 2012 will bring lots of exciting changes for our members, and of course that includes on The Corner.

We’re planning some changes to the look and feel of The Corner, but to kick off the year right, I’d like to introduce the Member Question of the Month program. Each month, we’ll choose one person who has really stood out as an insightful professional and a leader in the community, and that person will be our member of the month. Along with their title, the member of the month will win an Ogio backpack.

The Member of the Month will get to kick off our contest by asking a business question to the community. This is where you all come in. We’re really excited to learn from your experience and your insight, so be sure to share your thoughts on whatever question they have chosen. Our esteemed panel of judges (the MVPs) will choose the 3 best responses, and then you the community will get to vote on which of those was the very best response. What resonated with you? What post did you most agree with? You know how Jigsaw loves to give away prizes, so the person whose post is chosen as the very best response will win a Jigsaw hooded sweatshirt.

So, without further ado, I’d like to introduce this month’s Member of the Month:

Stingray

Stingray was an obvious choice for our first member of the month. Many of you probably know him from his Sales Joke of the Day, but what you might not realize is that Stingray also polices the Jigsaw database as an Active Data Defender. What really stood out though was his leadership on The Corner. We were so impressed when he rallied the troops to help Data.com move toward winning the Top Sales Productivity Award and when he facilitated some very thought provoking ethics conversations.

We can’t wait to see what you think about the question he has come up with for our first Member Question of the Month.

So get to the All Things Sales board and tell us, what are your thoughts on the importance of planning? How detailed is your business plan?  Your life plan?   Or are you just content with “winging” it?

@Stingray - Congratulations.

This is a well deserved recognition. You are amazing about the activity you generate on the Community boards, and making sure the data is clean and correct. The virtual Christmas Party was fantastic. Kudos to YOU.

Thank you JS_Community!    You folks are too generous.

I was a bit worried since last week when you said you were going to send me "packing."

I had no idea it was going to be Ogio back"packing!"

As for the "Member of the Month" award, I am truly honored.    Just as long as there is no Jigsaw pin-up calendar associated with it.   I'm not sure how my wife will react to me being named "Mr. January."

All kidding aside, this community is a blast!    Without everyone's involvement we wouldn't have this venue for exchanging ideas, sharing tips, having some fun and moving forward.  

I'd also like to take this opportunity to in turn thank a few people who have helped me out so much in the past year.    Thanks to Hecko,  for your friendship, your jokes, your sense of humour and for your sharing of your wizardry with Jigsaw with me.   You've taught me a lot.    Thanks to KindDate for providing sincere criticism when it was warranted and cautious restraint at times when I tended to push the envelope too far!!!   Thanks as well to Hesh98, who taught me how to spot and track down abusers in the most unique and interesting ways. 

I'd also like to thank JS_Community, who in May of last year, called up an average Jigsaw user in Canada who had about 72,000 completed activities and a less than stellar accuracy rating of only 88%.   She told me that Jigsaw wanted to fly me down to Vegas for three days to their second annual Rainmaker event.    I had a fantastic time!   I learned a ton!    And things haven't really been the same since!   It just goes to show you what a difference one phone call can make.

Speaking of differences, I'd like to leave you with a small quote from John Wesley that I believe captures the essence of what being a real Jigsaw Community Member is all about:

“Do all the good you can,

By all the means you can,
In all the ways you can,
In all the places you can,
At all the times you can,
To all the people you can,
As long as ever you can.”

And Stingray would just like to add to all those skeptics who insist that you cannot get good quality data business data for free and have a fun time while doing it....        we the Jigsaw Community have proven to them that.........
