Baguba, could you post the precise link to get to the one by one free tester?

Sure this should get you there : http://my-addr.com/email/
Does anyone here use Melissa data to do reverse lookups on email addresses or to find additional home email addresses for prospects? You can also use it to enter an physical address and see all the emails associated with said address.

I tested a couple of good emails at mailtester.com and got back the response that the servers for those addresses wouldn't allow testing. However, those same emails were able to be validated correctly at verifyemailaddress.org.
I tried that too and was suspicious - so I made up an email address at a company mailtester identifies as not allowing testing.
Verifyemailaddress.org verified it as good.
Well, I guess there's a remote chance that somebody named "Zfrurga Xlotl" works there, but I doubt it.
How often do you get an "invalid" response from this service?
I cannot give you the formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure--which is: Try to please everybody.

I'd be happy if people took a quick look through their contacts and didn't upload incomplete or mispelled names....
No, I am not thinking of anyone in particular here. There are many ![]()

I get about 35-40% verified as bad with www.verifyemailaddress.org. The ones it lists as valid seem to go to accounts where there are catchall addresses. Deloitte.com and accenture.com, for example, always register almost anything as valid.

Well. Good information to know. It would seem that if you get an email NOT VALID response from www.verifyemailaddress.org, it seems pretty likely to be actually NOT VALID. However, it would also seem that www.verifyemailaddress.org likely has a lot of false positive validations. Sigh... too bad there isn't one service that is more accurate.
In the spirit of avoiding penalties though, I would recommend two things:
- When graveyarding contacts because of bad emails, use a service that is most likely NOT going to invalidate good emails. (i.e., verifyemailaddress.org)
- When uploading contacts use a service that is most likely NOT going to validate bad emails. (i.e.,my-addr.com/email)
Does this seem reasonable and helpful?

Message moved from sales board to support center.
I think we'll get more views here from people looking for tips on how to use Jigsaw. Thanks!
